Primary Election Day: Notes from the precincts

first_img LEAVE A REPLY Cancel reply Mama Mia Got back from voting this morning, got my sticker, and I was number 69 around 10:00 give or take. My husband was number 70. Pulled in, only one person in there voting. As we left, only one person coming in. Quiet as a church mouse inside. 5 poll workers with nothing to do pretty much. No problems, no lines at all. 2 poll watchers and campaigners outside by the road. It was lonely! Yeah, I remember the big birthday party for Apopka’s Birthday Celebration and it was in Kit Land Nelson Park. We had a huge full sheet flat cake that was decorated with a icing drawing of city hall on a table under a tent. So nice! We had ice and soft drinks, other stuff, and entertainment. It was a very long time ago so it seems to me, I can’t remember the year, but I believe that it was when at the same time they buried the time capsule up there in front of city hall, I believe. I just know that it was 100 plus years, just can’t remember exactly how old the city was then. A huge turnout of families and their kids came, and it was fun! 1:30 PM UPDATE20,661 Orange County voters voted today as of 1:30 PM, which brings the total to 105,941, which is 14.5%. Reply 3 COMMENTS When I returned home I happened to think about the sheriff race, and thought wait a minute, I don’t remember that on the ballot, but then I thought about it, and remembered that one is a Democrat, one is a Republican, so that would place it on the Nov. 8th ballot. I think the write- in is Republican, on the sheriff’s race. It didn’t close off that race with the write-in, so what was the purpose of a write- in except for the heck of it????
