New joint venture to develop 500MW of solar in Ireland FacebookTwitterLinkedInEmailPrint分享Solar Power Portal:Irish solar developer Shannon Energy is to develop 500MW of solar in Ireland over five years in a joint venture with Danish renewables investor and developer Obton Energy. In interviews on Wednesday morning with sister site PV Tech, both companies confirmed that Ireland’s forthcoming inaugural renewable energy auction scheme spurred the €300 million (£256 million) plan.Gerry Shannon, who runs the Dublin-based company with his brother, explained, “Ireland is fertile ground thanks to the government’s new auction process”. Ready-to-build projects totaling 150MW have already been secured and developed, he said, and the partners intend “to reach further back into the development process and look to secure greenfield sites” over the next five years, too.Details of Ireland’s long-awaited Renewable Electricity Support Scheme (RESS) were unveiled in December. The first, 300GWh, auction is scheduled for the summer. The government has devised the scheme, which will be administered by Ireland’s transmission system operator EirGrid, in order to increase renewables’ share of Ireland’s electricity to 70% by 2030 from about 40% today. Both Shannon and [Anders Marcus, chief executive officer of Obton] confirmed that while energy storage was not included in short-term plans, it is likely to be included in the long-term.Corporate offtakers will also be considered in due course. “Corporate PPAs tend to be shorter term, five or seven years, and we’re going to hold these projects for 30 years, meaning we would prefer to have a longer-agreement,” said Shannon. “In the future, if we can find a corporate PPA or a private PPA that would be suitable for us, then of course we will go ahead and construct, provided that the bank regards to paperwork of such a PPA to be a viable risk.”[Cecilia Keating]More: JV between New Obton and Shannon Energy to spend £256m on 500MW of Irish solar

Rent-a-car activity is one of the most important business segments for leasing companies and insurers, and in the last ten years the rent-a-car industry is responsible for 30-45% of all newly registered vehicles in Croatia, which is again very important for the functioning importers, distribution, transport, service and repairs. The following 4 emergency measures are needed to preserve the car rental industry: Rent-a-car The HUP Coordination therefore proposes the adoption of urgent additional assistance measures for the sector, in order to ensure the retention of employees and the preservation of rent-a-car companies until the normalization of operations. Also, Petreski emphasizes that due to the suspension of tourist arrivals, they demand that the collection of rent for counters and parking spaces at airports be suspended. In the financial aid package, it is extremely important to present to the Government of the Republic of Croatia the real illiquidity of tourism in the first part of the year and the positive cash flow where possible surplus (profit) is realized only at the end of summer. waiting until September 2021 because other options are not realistic, he points out Mladen Petreski, President of Rent-a-car Coordination of HUP He adds: The car rental industry in Croatia generates as much as 90 percent of its rental income, and due to the crisis, the entire sector is completely blocked. Rent-a-car annually orders about 15-18 thousand new vehicles “The consequences of this crisis will be much deeper and more far-reaching than anyone could have expected. It is difficult to predict the beginning of the normalization of business in tourism, so it is necessary to plan a new set of measures as soon as possible so that the tourism-dependent sector can preserve jobs and welcome 2021.”Concludes Petreski. “We welcome the April package of Government measures that have brought major shifts and help for the economy. We expect that significant relief in the area of parafiscal levies will be brought soon. As vehicles are our main means of work, it is important for our industry to relieve all vehicle-related benefits. Therefore, we hope to soon consider the proposal to postpone the obligation to register new vehicles and extend the validity of registrations during the time when the vehicles were out of order. Although Leasing is also included in the Government’s measures of moratorium and reprogramming, leasing obligations of leasing companies for now approve a delay of 3 months, which is not enough for our companies. It is necessary to ensure a moratorium of at least 18 months for the period of suspended revenues and low liquidity. ” The annual income of rent-a-car activities in Croatia is estimated at approx. 150,000.000 euros including VAT – most of the foreign currency collected directly from tourists and agents from abroad. Leasing moratorium should be agreed for a realistically feasible period of 18 months through changes in moratorium measures and loan repayment rescheduling of all those affected by the crisis Suspend the collection of rents at airports during the suspension of commercial flights and the percentage reduction after the start of passenger traffic (2019/20)Extension of the duration of vehicle registration for a period of 1 to 3 months as long as the vehicles are out of order and extension of the deadline within which a new vehicle must be registeredSuspension of payment of the RTV fee

Naesean Howard is no longer on the Syracuse football team, Syracuse head coach Scott Shafer confirmed in a statement released Tuesday night. Nate Mink of The Post-Standard was the first to report Howard’s status.“We have decided to part ways,” Shafer said of Howard in the statement. “We wish Naesean all the best in the future.”Howard, a two-way player at nearby West Genesee (New York) High School, was the first to commit to Syracuse in the Class of 2014. He did so as a running back, but entered training camp as a safety. During training camp, Howard was suspended from the team for missing curfew and did not attend the Orange’s trip to Fort Drum.At that time, Howard spent time with graduate assistant and former SU linebacker Siriki Diabate. Shafer said Howard “learned his lesson” after rejoining the team, and there hasn’t been an announcement of whether he’ll be able to do so again. Euro 2016 winners Portugal take on 2010 World Cup fourth-placed side Uruguay in the last 16 of the tournament on Saturday.A late Iran penalty saw Portugal qualify for the knockout stages, having snatched a late draw with Spain thanks to a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick and beating Morocco by a slim margin.Coach Fernando Santos will have no issue upsetting the odds after Portugal’s slow start, having coached them to European Championships glory two years ago despite winning only one game in 90 minutes.Ahead of Saturday’s game, he knows Ronaldo and his fellow forward players will have to be in top form to upset a Uruguay side who are yet to concede a goal in this World Cup, and one who found their scoring boots in a 3-0 win over Russia to top their group last week.”They are a typical South American side,” said Santos.”It’s not just in this World Cup that they have not been conceding goals. It has been like that for the whole of 2018. Oscar Tabarez is the longest-serving international manager. That means he has a very strong relationship with his players.” One of Uruguay’s biggest concerns will be that of Ronaldo, who has four goals in the tournament so far, and could have had another had he not missed a second-half penalty against Iran.Tabarez, who is in his 14th year as Uruguay manager, albeit across two spells, is understandably planning that his side will have to work as a team to contain the five-time Ballon d’Or winner.”Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the best strikers in the world,” Tabarez said. “He has a great potential obviously and in planning the match, especially focusing on the opponent and considering the level that every player has … what Ronaldo has on top of the qualities is that he’s the leader of that team.”That is an additional factor. There is not a single player that can contain him there. Not just [Diego] Godin. We will have to work collectively in order to try and contain him or in order to try and limit the effect he can have.”Team newsClubless William Carvalho could miss the game for Portugal, having been absent from training in the build-up with a minor injury, but Gelson Martins and Raphael Guerreiro are fit to start. Uruguay defender Jose Gimenez, who scored their first goal of the tournament, should also be ready to return after sitting out their final group game with Russia.Opta stats This will be the third encounter between Uruguay and Portugal and their first at the World Cup. They haven’t faced each other since July 1972 when they drew 1-1 at Rio de Janeiro’s Maracanã stadium. Portugal are so far unbeaten in their two previous meetings (W1 D1).Penalty shoot-outs excluded, Portugal have lost only one of their last 17 games at major tournaments (W8 D8), a 4-0 defeat against Germany at the 2014 World Cup. However, they have lost their last three games in the World Cup knockout stages (1 goal scored, 5 conceded).Since the format of the World Cup changed in 1986 to include a round of 16, Uruguay have been eliminated on three of the four occasions they’ve reached that stage, losing in 1986, 1990 and 2014, but progressing in 2010 against South Korea.Uruguay will be looking to win their opening four games at a World Cup tournament for only the second time after 1930 when they won the first ever World Cup.Uruguay are yet to concede a single goal at the 2018 World Cup, facing just six shots on target in three games – the last South American team not to concede in their first four matches of a World Cup tournament were Brazil in 1986.All five of Uruguay’s goals at the 2018 World Cup have been scored from set-pieces (3 from corners, 1 from direct free-kick and 1 from indirect free-kick). Meanwhile, three of Portugal’s last four goals have come from outside the box.Luis Suarez has scored seven World Cup goals for Uruguay, second only to Oscar Miguez (8) – Suarez scored a brace against South Korea in his only previous World Cup appearance in the round of 16 back in 2010.Cristiano Ronaldo has so far failed to score a single goal for Portugal in the knockout stages of the World Cup: 424 minutes, 0 goals. However, he did score a hat-trick against Spain in his previous game at Sochi’s Fisht Stadium. If he plays, Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo (37) will equal Bastian Schweinsteiger (38) as the player with the most appearances at World Cups + European Championships. This is Fernando Santos’ fourth major tournament in a row as manager. He’s reached the knockout stages on each previous occasion: Euro 2012 quarter-finals & World Cup 2014 round of 16 with Greece; Euro 2016 winners and at the very least World Cup 2018 round of 16 with Portugal.
British Open 2019: Brooks Koepka not satisfied with 2019 major results The idea behind the decision was to give more precedence to the season-ending FedEx Cup Playoffs on the PGA Tour, which will conclude in August this year to avoid clashes with the start of the NFL season. But Rose, speaking ahead of the 148th Open Championship at Royal Portrush, believes the new format does not give enough precedence to the majors or allow players to fully find their groove. Related News “One major a month, I think in my opinion they’re too soon,” he said.”It’s too condensed. As a professional in terms of trying to peak for something, the process that’s involved in trying to do that can be detailed and it can be longer than a month. So that’s my reasoning for that.”But I also think it’s pretty much driven by FedExCup, wanting to finish on a certain date, everything else having to fit in where it can.”For me a major championship should be the things that are protected the most. That’s how all of our careers ultimately are going to be measured. “Thirty, 40 years ago there wasn’t a FedExCup so if you’re trying to compare one career to another career, Jack [Nicklaus] versus Tiger [Woods], it’s the majors that are the benchmarks. For them to be tweaked so much I think is quite interesting at this point.”Last look at @royalportrush before a few days with the family…. #TheOpen pic.twitter.com/zlREPzbceY— Justin ROSE (@JustinRose99) July 12, 2019Rose placed in a tie for second at The Open at Carnoustie 12 months ago, two shots shy of Francesco Molinari. The Englishman was also well in contention at last month’s U.S. Open but struggled to find his rhythm on the final day and finished joint-third.Rose is not surprised he has been unable to add to the solitary major title he won at the 2013 U.S. Open, but remains confident of winning more of golf’s big four trophies. PORTRUSH, Northern Ireland — Justin Rose has questioned the decision to tinker with the scheduling of major tournaments in 2019 and feels the events are “too condensed.”This year saw the U.S. PGA Championship switch from August to May, meaning all four major championships were scheduled for four consecutive months between April and July. British Open 2019: Tiger Woods lauds Brooks Koepka despite apparent Portrush snub “They are hard to win and you’ve seen great players not win one. I’m still obviously grateful to have that major under my belt,” he added. “I’ve had three second-place finishes in majors since then. Augusta [in 2017 when he lost a play-off to Sergio Garcia at the Masters], that was one-arm-in-the-jacket type situation but you never skip through a career without a little bit of heartache along the way.”I feel like I’d like maybe a couple more chances, but I’ve definitely given myself some looks and if I keep doing that I know the door will open again.”
