City residents told: ‘Clean as you go’

ILOILO City – The SangguniangPanlungsod (SP) encourages residents, businesses and government offices tofulfil their civic duty of keeping this southern city clean. In support of the resolution, citygovernment officials led by Mayor Jerry Treñas signed a “commitment of support”after Monday’s flag-raising ceremony in front of city hall. Mayor Jerry Treñas spearheads the signing of a “pledge of commitment” in support to Resolution No. 2019-654 of the Sangguniang Panlungsod encourage the public to observe “Clean as You Go” – the practice of keeping one’s area clean and tidy at all times. Citing Section 1 of PresidentialDecree No. 825, the SP also encourages schools, commercial and industrialestablishments such as hotels, restaurants, hospitals, cinema houses, publicmarkets, department stores, groceries, food chains, kiosks, and workplaces toprovide sufficient trash bins and other facilities intended for clean-up. “Clean as you go,” it reminded them inResolution No. 2019-654 authored by Councilor Rudolph Jeffrey Ganzon andapproved late last year. People should take part in the cleaning process, it stressed.
