French Open 2016: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga retires with leg injury

first_imgSixth-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France has retired from his third-round match at Roland Garros with a leg injury while leading Ernests Gulbis 5-2 in the first set.The Frenchman, twice a semifinalist at Roland Garros and the runner-up at the 2008 Australian Open, left the court with a trainer. When he returned, he said he no longer could play.Tsonga draped a white towel over his head and used it to wipe tears from his eyes.The 80th-ranked Gulbis reached the semifinals at the French Open in 2014.last_img
