FEARS GROW FOR THE FUTURE OF CREGG HOUSE

first_imgFianna Fáil Seanad Spokesperson on Health Senator Marc Mac Sharry has called on the Health Minister James Reilly to immediately intervene to secure the future of Cregg House. The Sligo Senator raised concerns directly with the Health Minister following a statement from Wisdom Services that no progress has been made, despite the announcement more than a year ago of the withdrawal of the Daughters of Wisdom.Cregg House has provided facilities to Donegal families for many years. Speaking to Minister Reilly, Senator Mac Sharry said, “This is a completely unacceptable situation, with services users and their families uncertain about the future of Cregg House and who will run its services. I am therefore appealing that you and your office personally intervene.“Having failed to find an alternative provider, it was believed that the HSE would accelerate direct service provision for Cregg House. Instead, what appears to be a very hostile negotiation process has not yielded any results.“I have further concerns about the costs of the service, after a cost comparison report revealed tahat the HSE-run Cloomahon cost €40,000 more per service user than the Daughters of Wisdom at Cregg House. I am calling for the full publication of this report so that an examination can be conducted into this issue.“The immediate issue is that service users and their families deserve to know who is going to be running and providing services. The uncertainty has gone on long enough. It is essential that the Minister intervene without further delay.”  FEARS GROW FOR THE FUTURE OF CREGG HOUSE was last modified: June 13th, 2013 by BrendaShare this:Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to share on Reddit (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pocket (Opens in new window)Click to share on Telegram (Opens in new window)Click to share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window)Click to share on Skype (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window) Tags:FEARS GROW FOR THE FUTURE OF CREGG HOUSElast_img read more
